Dan Grassick (they/them) is an Executive Staff Officer in the Alberta Teachers' Association's Professional Development program area. Among Dan's main responsibilities are leading the ATA's Diversity, Equity, and Human Rights (DEHR) work, supporting the teachers' conventions in Southern Alberta, and working with the faculties of education in Calgary, Lethbridge, and Medicine Hat. Before joining the Association in January 2016, Dan worked as a teacher and learning leader for the Calgary Board of Education, as an instructor and researcher at the University of Alberta, and as a senior manager with YMCA Calgary. Dan has ADHD and passionately speaks about the strengths and challenges this neurodiversity presents in his life. Dan encourages his students and colleagues to "embrace their inner geeks" and looks forward to hearing about all how you can leverage all your interest​s, hobbies, and guilty pleasures in your work as a teacher and school leader.
