Perspective is everything. When you look at the world around you, what do you see? Or, better yet, how do you see it? The way you choose to see your circumstances and the stories of the people around you profoundly affects how you teach and how you interact with your students, colleagues, and family. When we focus on the dimly lit world around us, we lose our ability to persevere in a profession that is increasingly difficult. Do you see the beauty of a snowfall or the disaster of a commute? Your answer is the difference between surviving or thriving.
