Ann Dancyger spent the second year of her life living in hiding in a barn in Ratno Poland with her mother. When the Nazis eventually found them, Ann’s mother was forced at gunpoint to dig their own graves with Ann strapped to her back… Hear from Holocaust survivor Ann Dancyger to learn about her story of survival, hope and resilience. Following Ann’s testimony, join Calgary Jewish Federation’s Holocaust and Human Rights: Remembrance and Education Co-Chair, Dahlia Libin, for a live Q & A to learn more about the many other programs that we offer to students around Alberta, including the annual Holocaust Education Symposium and the upcoming "Here to Tell" exhibit at the Calgary Glenbow Museum. About Calgary Jewish Federation’s Holocaust and Human Rights Remembrance and Education Department. The mission of the Holocaust and Human Rights: Remembrance and Education department of Calgary Jewish Federation is to promote acceptance, social justice, and human rights through education and remembrance of the Holocaust. As the primary leader in Holocaust education for Southern Alberta, our department engages approximately 4,000+ students and teachers annually. In addition, we present, partner, and sponsor numerous public cultural and commemorative events to memorialize those who perished and honour those who survived.
