In this session, we’ll examine approaches and strategies to enhance STEM learning for English language learners in grades 7 through 12. We will look at culturally relevant and responsive teaching contexts for mathematics and science, and discover a range of resources to support students who are developing their proficiency in English. We’ll also consider strategies to support the literacy and numeracy development of newcomer students who have gaps in their formal school before arrival in Canada.
