With an understanding of the broad and varied landscape of education today, we are putting a spotlight on the incredible potential of autistic and neurodivergent students when they are in learning environments that highlight ability over deficit. Session attendees will gain a better understanding of autism and neurodivergence through a progressive, strengths-based lens. We will also debunk some prevalent myths about autism, discuss common conditions that can accompany autism, and tackle the line between teaching and treatment. Attendees will walk away with an enhanced perspective, along with realistic and attainable strategies that have been proven to help autistic and neurodivergent students realize their full potential, and thrive as they transition into adulthood and beyond.
