According to environmental educator Juliet Roberson, “If you consider your own time at school, chances are that your strongest memories will be about your time outdoors.” We agree! No matter what subject, the outdoors provides the context to help students make sense of what they are learning and the world around them. Outdoor learning also contributes to student wellness and the development of a meaningful relationship with Mother Earth. This session is all about getting started with your students, from establishing expectations and routines to making sure everyone stays warm and has a positive experience.
