Courageously Caring: Creating Cultures of Kindness and Communication in Schools: Creating Cultures of Kindness and Communication in Schools: In this presentation, I will discuss structural, social, and emotional issues related to bullying in schools. Addressing public health implications of bullying is key to developing healthier societies in the future. Applying trauma informed lenses, evidence based whole school anti-bullying programs have been shown to facilitate open dialogue that leads to vulnerable and honest conversations. Blending the head and heart promotes the creation of school cultures that are kind and facilitate open communication. I will tell stories that help to shift narratives, as well as providing practical tips and tools for teachers.
