You are probably familiar with Task-Based Language Teaching and you might have thought about how it could work in your second language class. In this session, we will examine the main characteristics of a task through examples, comparing them to other types of pedagogical activities. We will experience practical activities to help you design or adapt tasks for the second language classroom. We will also introduce you to the Task-Based Language Teaching Community of Practice and we will discuss ways in which it can support you in your professional learning. We will be using materials and examples in English to ensure that the session is applicable to teachers of any second language. If you are interested in teaching with tasks, this session is for you.
