In this session, participants will be introduced to the wonderful world of Computer Science in an approachable, and common-sense way that meets the curriculum outcomes in Science for Grades 4-6. Join us in this hands-on session as we explore unplugged activities that don’t require any devices at all, as well as become familiar with recommended web-based coding tools and robotics options to engage your students while learning the new Science curriculum. Participants will have fun learning and interacting with iRobot Root, mBot 2.0 and the Nezha Inventors Kit (a viable Lego Mindstorm alternative via the Micro:bit) to inspire and demystify how to guide your students through these new Science outcomes. No previous coding or robotics experience needed. We’ll bring the robots, you bring a laptop, and a willingness to play and have fun!

No attendee parking at Western Canada High School. Parking reserved for presenters by permit only.
