Understanding regulation and it's impact is on learning has become essential to school success. As an Occupational Therapist the focus of our intervention is supporting functional participation of students in the classroom. Over the last 5 years supporting regulation has become an essential part of this functional participation and student success. Research has shown that the ability to regulate is a higher predictor of academic success then IQ level. This session will provide a basic overview of regulation and it's impact on learning. The session will facilitate the application of this knowledge into teachers' daily classroom routines. Functional, practical strategies will be shared and will help teachers to reflect on the unique regulation needs of themselves as a teacher and the learners in their classroom.
