What practical ways can we respond to life’s adversity that goes beyond the classic cliché’s of “focus on the positive,” and “Life is what you make of it?” These basic principals may be well-intended, but they fail to provide us with practical strategies that are crucial in turning a victim into an achiever and a follower into a leader. Understanding how emotions are made in the brain is the first step in learning feasible strategies we can use to change negative thinking habits that lead to emotional distress such as depression and anxiety. Attendees of this workshop will walk away with, easy to grasp techniques for both adults and youth, to self manage and discern the difference between healthy emotion that gives meaning to life and unhealthy emotional habits that often lead to destructive behavior.
