This season of Covid has intensified trauma in people of all ages. This session will increase awareness of and understanding trauma behaviours experienced in the classroom and beyond. We explore Adverse Childhood Experiences,(ACE's) and Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome(PTSD) and how the growth and functioning of the brain is inhibited due to trauma. We will cover brain functioning from a medical standpoint: hormone & physical health and explore how learning becomes difficult for children with trauma. We explore and open for discussion in the group practical solutions on a day to day basis in the classroom along with a toolkit of resources. Part one, recommended before taking part 2.
