Dr. Jason Wiens as a Professor in the Department of English and Associate Dean, Student Success in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary. He teaches courses across the English program, but is a specialist in Canadian literature and modern and contemporary poetry, as well as archival studies and pedagogy. In his associate dean role, he advises students needing accommodations, deferrals, and other supports, handles all undergraduate academic misconduct cases across the faculty, and serves as academic director of the Arts Students' Centre. More than a few of Jason's former students are now teachers in the Calgary area, and he hopes to see some of them at the conference.
