Katarina Daignault
Katarina Darwent-Dagnault is an educator with the Calgary Board of Education, working in a specialized setting with students in grades 5 to 7 who face complex mental health challenges. A passionate advocate for mental health literacy, she strives to build understanding and resilience in students who often feel marginalized within their classroom and school communities. Katarina is deeply committed to creating safe, inclusive spaces where each student feels valued, fostering their self-efficacy and empowering them to thrive both academically and personally. She collaborates closely with teachers across districts to recognize and nurture each child’s unique gifts and talents, ultimately transforming classrooms into more compassionate, supportive learning environments. Through her work, Katarina aims to spark positive change in the lives of both her students and colleagues, promoting a culture of understanding and empowerment.
