Ready Squad - Calgary Emergency Management Agency

Booth 121

The impacts of disasters and emergencies can disproportionally effect children and youth, and teachers play a key role in helping children and youth prepare and recover from disasters. Ready Squad from CEMA is a free of charge, publicly oriented program that aims to teach children and youth age-appropriate actions to prepare, respond and recover during emergencies; share knowledge with peers and parents; and increase children’s and youth’s emotional resilience surrounding emergencies.

Calgary 9-1-1 is the  Public Safety Answering Point for the Calgary area, answering over a million calls a year. We are the largest dispatch centre in Alberta serving the most amount of communities. We have a PR Team that is ready to present to classrooms with presentations ready - hoping to liaise and build partnerships with schools to be able to teach students how 9-1-1 works!
