For over 30 years, Chris Herard is an internationally recognized music educator, conductor, performer, clinician, adjudicator and keynote speaker from Calgary, Canada. Chris holds multiple degrees from the University of Calgary and the University of Hawaii. He is currently a consultant for Fine Arts with the Calgary Catholic School District serving over 65,000 students. Chris has judged competitions and presented to educators and leaders in Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, Denmark, the USA and Canada. 
Chris is a founding member and board member of CADME, as well as SLAM and sits on the boards of the AIBF, WAMSB International, the Sudler Shield and Phi Betu Mu Alpha.  He is also an active performer with his award winning band “the Heebee-jeebees”.

Chris developed Band Directors United in 2014 to connect band teachers to master teachers, promote best practice and build community. It’s working.
