
Melissa Melville is a teacher with the Calgary Board of Education with over 25 years of experience. She is a passionate kindergarten teacher who cultivates a vibrant, play-based learning environment. She is dedicated to process art, outdoor learning, and fostering student-led inquiry, always striving to create spaces where children can explore and express themselves.
With a strong belief in making language accessible to all, Melissa was introduced to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) by a speech-language pathologist colleague. She quickly saw its potential to enhance communication in her classroom. Since then, she has actively integrated AAC into her teaching practice, supporting communication and fostering language development for every learner.
