Learn about how Calgary Board of Education (CBE) schools has engaged in the Your Voice is Power program, a unique initiative that inspires students to learn coding as they remix beats by Indigenous artists to create their own music. The program curriculum, developed by two Indigenous educators and supported by UBC, Amazon, and TakingITGlobal, can be used across grade 7-12 and also helps to respond to TRC calls to action. In this session you'll get an overview of the program, explore the EarSketch coding platform, learn how the CBE has collaborated with TakingITGlobal and Fair Chance Learning to provide this opportunity to students and brainstorm how you might engage your students in the activities offered!
