In this session, a Psychiatrist and a special education teacher will explore the realities and misconceptions of ADHD through Rick Riordan’s acclaimed novel, The Lightning Thief. We’ll discuss how ADHD is portrayed in literature versus clinical reality, focusing on the impact ADHD has on learning and behaviour in the classroom and beyond. Educators will gain an evidence-based understanding of ADHD, the way it impacts students, as well as practical strategies for supporting students with ADHD in both their learning and wellness. This session will provide both insights and actionable tools for the classroom and leverage storytelling and representation of neurodiversity as a powerful tool for connection and learning.
