Centre for Sexuality staff and Summer Qamp Director Jen Markowitz will present the film Summer Qamp (88 minutes) followed by a panel of staff and camp fYrefly youth. Summer Qamp follows a group of LGBTQ+ youth at an idyllic lakeside camp (Centre for Sexuality’s Camp fYrefly) in Southern Alberta, Canada. The campers enjoy the traditional summer camp experience in a safe, affirming environment where they deepen their connections with their community and themselves. The panel will focus on the impact of Camp fYrefly and the importance of creating spaces that are safe for all 2SLGBTQ+ youth to experience queer joy.
