Power writing is a simple tool to teach paragraph writing that provides: 1. A structured and easy to learn format for students to follow that outlines what each sentence’s job is in a paragraph 2. A way for students to improve organization in their writing and increase thought and detail in their paragraphs 3. A way for teachers to scaffold the complexity of paragraph writing so struggling and strong writers can improve their writing and feel successful. This session will outline the format and benefits, provide examples and strategies to teach Power Writing, and examine how it can be used in a variety of subjects and grade levels.
