All teachers are teachers of reading. However, many teachers are unsure how to incorporate literacy practices into the science and math classroom. This session will introduce middle school science and math teachers to text annotation as a strategy to support reading comprehension, depth of thinking, content knowledge, and collaboration. Participants will also learn how to use text annotation as a rich source of assessment data. We will explore and model an easy-to-implement approach that will increase student engagement and achievement and make your marking a whole lot more interesting!
