The Local 38 AntiRacist Teachers Network is hosting a Racialized Teachers Affinity Space. A Racialized Teachers Affinity Space is where BIPOC educators can come together to find support, connection and community. These spaces provide targeted and necessary support to educators facing unique challenges because of their race. Racialized Teacher Affinity Spaces also aim to combat the isolation and labor that come with being a racialized educator in schools that lack diversity in staffing while also providing confidentiality in these discussions. We seek to equip racialized teachers with languaging to deepen understanding of their experiences related to racism in their schools.
