
M.W.Bro. John D. May was initiated on May 21, 2017 at Concordia Lodge No. 13 in Towson, Maryland. Passed on October 8, 2007. Raised on April 7, 2008. And stood proficiency on May 26, 2008. Bro. May is an affiliate member of Washington Lodge No. 3 in Cockeysville, Maryland; Valdez Lodge No. 4 in Valdez, Alaska; and, Yukon Lodge No. 45 in Dawson City, Yukon Territory. Bro. May received the 32o of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, SJ in the Valley of Fairbanks during the reunion of April 2011. Bro. May received the Degrees of the York Rite, including the Royal Arch and Order of the Temple, during the festival of May 2014 in Fairbanks, Alaska. Bro. May is a member of the Allied Masonic Degrees, York Rite Sovereign College, and the Red Cross of Constantine. Noble May is a member of the Al Aska Shrine, Shriners International, and is an active member of the Valdez Shrine Club having served as multiple terms as Club President and Club Recorder.
M.W.Bro. May is a strong supporter and contributor to Masonic Research and Education. He is a member of the Masonic Society, Scottish Rite Research Society, the Philalethes Society, and the Grand College of Rites of the United States of America. Bro. May has been an active proponent of Masonic Research and Education in Alaska through his work as Executive Editor of the Masonic magazine - "Light from the Great Land".
M.W. John D. May is a graduate of the California Maritime Academy with a B.S. in Marine Transportation. Bro. May spent his early career as a USCG-licensed Merchant Marine Officer on oil tankers, naval auxiliary vessels, container ships, and tugs and barges. Bro. May currently works for the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System as a Marine Oil Spill Prevention and Response Supervisor. He is currently pursuing an MBA.
