
Simon R. LaPlace is a Past Grand Master of Connecticut. During his nine-year progression through the offices of the Grand Lodge, he was Editor-in-Chief of the monthly Connecticut Freemasons publication. He is a former board member of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria, Virginia.
Professionally, he worked at the family retail home furnishing business which he closed in its 108th year in 2005. He is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. Simon met his wife, Deborah, while they worked together at a restaurant in Massachusetts. They moved to Maryland in October of 2016 when he assumed his duties as the eighth and last Executive Secretary of the Masonic Service Association of North America. His three-year committment concluded in September 2019.
They have one son who is married and living in Berlin, Germany.
