Ken Gibson's tenure as Executive Director of Washington Masonic Charities began in 2014. His nonprofit and philanthropic leadership experience spans four decades and includes management, philanthropic and executive roles in organizations including Pacific Science Center, Seattle Public Library, The Seattle Children's Museum, Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, Metro Parks Tacoma, and the Tacoma Area Coalition of Individuals with Disabilities.

 

He is currently focused on creating and delivering programs focused on aiding older adults in their efforts to age in place, helping to assure that school kids experiencing homelessness have the support they need to succeed in school and life, promoting civility through the Masonic Youth Orders, and overseeing the Washington Masonic Library and Museum.

Gibson is a Master Mason, and Member of Steilacoom Lodge #2, Trivium Lodge #22, Tacoma Valley Scottish Rite (32), and Tacoma Chapter Royal Arch. He is also Rainbow Dad and Board member for Tacoma-Kenrick Assembly #2, and a Dad Advisor for Tacoma Chapter Order of DeMolay.  Additional community volunteer activities include leadership roles in the Amateur Emergency Radio Service.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Pacific Lutheran University, and a Masters Degree in Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University. He is a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit academic honor society.
