George Robert Rusk
George was born at the North Charleston Naval Base in Charleston, S.C. After graduating high school at Hernando High in central Florida he enlisted in the Navy and after a year of fundamental and advanced electronics schools was first stationed at NAS Agana, Guam, where he met his wife Michele, a Navy electrician. His second four-year tour was at NAS North Island, Coronado, California, completing eight years as an Aviation Electronics Technician (E6) and a Vietnam Era Veteran. He returned to Florida and found work at a video projector manufacturer and then for McDonnell Douglas at the Kennedy Space Center. He finally settled in Mesa, Arizona, working in audio/video and aerospace manufacturing. George retired in 2019 as a manufacturing engineer after 22 years with The Boeing Company.
Initiated, passed, and raised at Oriental Lodge No. 20, in Mesa, AZ., he was elected to serve as Master in 2015. He was elected as treasurer from 2016 through 2017 and then appointed DDGM for District 12 of the Grand Lodge of Arizona in 2017. George is a Past State President of the Arizona Association of Masonic High Twelve Clubs, past President and member of the East Valley Masonic High Twelve Club #765, Past Royal Patron (three times) of Baa Hanii Court No. 9, Order of The Amaranth, member of Starlight No. 16, Order of The Eastern Star, and Past Patron of Valley of the Stars No. 62, Order of The Eastern Star. Also, a member of York Rite Damascus Chapter No. 21, Mesa Council No. 15, Apache Commandery No. 16, Scottish Rite Valley of Phoenix Orient of Arizona 32°, El Zaribah Shriner, affiliated with Camelback Daylight Lodge No. 75, Grand Lodge of Arizona Representative to Florida, and Honorary Member of Bethel No. 13, Job’s Daughters International.
George and his wife Michele, Past Royal Matron of Baa Hanii Court No. 9, and Honorary Member of Bethel No. 13, Job’s Daughters International, live in Mesa, AZ. and are proud parents, grandparents, and dog owners, celebrating over 46 years of marriage.
