1

Bill Gordon of Arizona And Nevada was installed as Grand Junior Councilor of DeMolay International in Cincinnati, OH, on June 24th, 2023.

Bill Gordon's DeMolay journey began in May 1979 when he was inducted into Scottsdale Chapter in Scottsdale, Arizona. As a second-generation DeMolay, the influence of his father and brothers played a pivotal role in shaping his decision to join this distinguished organization.

In 1986-87, Bill's commitment to DeMolay reached new heights as he assumed the role of the State Master Councilor of DeMolay in Arizona. Following his majority, Bill was entrusted with the pioneering position of "Assistant to the Executive Officer" under the leadership of Donald E. White, the Executive Officer. Bill established a DeMolay office in his apartment, serving as the creative hub for state communications and program materials.

A founding board member of the Arizona State Association, Inc., an umbrella organization for DeMolay at that time, Bill also contributed as a board member for the Arizona DeMolay Foundation. During his tenure as the State Chapter Advisor, he married Heather, whom he had met while she was a member of Job’s Daughters International and a female representative to DeMolay.

After a hiatus, Bill returned to DeMolay in 2009 when his son, Chandler, joined Glendale Chapter in Glendale, AZ. Subsequently, his other son, Chase, joined in 2010. Both sons went on to serve as the 49th and the 51st International Master Councilors for DeMolay International.

Bill played pivotal roles as Chapter Advisor and later as Chapter Chairman, leading Glendale Chapter to be recognized as “Chapter of the Year” four out of the five years he served. During his dedicated service, Glendale Chapter reached its zenith with 27 members attending stated meetings.

Bill's commitment to DeMolay extended to the broader Arizona community, where he served as the Director of Membership from 2012-2014. In January 2014, he was appointed Executive Officer, a position he held with distinction until July 2023. Under his leadership, Arizona's DeMolay membership surged, making it the 14th largest in the country. Bill opened more new chapters in his tenure than in the previous 25 years combined. His mentorship bore fruit with the election of Arizona's first three international officers in his first six years in office.

In 2021, Bill and his son Chase co-founded the Arizona DeMolay Foundation Community Initiative, recognized as a Qualifying Charitable Organization in Arizona. This initiative provides scholarships to children in the local community facing financial challenges and supports the Arizona DeMolay Foundation's legacy investment fund. Notably, it accepts donations eligible for a dollar-for-dollar tax credit, enhancing its impact. Bill’s involvement reflects his commitment to philanthropy, seamlessly merging leadership in DeMolay with broader efforts to create positive change in the local community.

A seasoned leader, Bill actively contributed to the International Supreme Council (ISC) by serving on the Appeals & Grievances, Insurance, and Education & Training Committees. In 2017, he was elected Chairman of the Conference of Executive Officers and organized a nationwide conference. Later, he joined the Board of Directors as the Region VII Representative before ascending to a position in the “C-Suite” of DeMolay International's main governing leadership.

Beyond his commitments to DeMolay, Bill is an active member of the Glendale Masonic Lodge #23, Free and Accepted Masons, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Phoenix, Orient of Arizona, and the El Zaribah Shriners, Shriners International.

Academically accomplished, Bill is a graduate of the University of Phoenix and is scheduled to complete his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in August 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA). He is the Vice President of Sales for Southwest Insurance Agent’s Alliance, a key player in the nation’s largest independent insurance agency owners’ network. Bill, a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), oversees a team of Regional Vice Presidents in acquiring and growing new member agencies in Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico, showcasing his professional leadership and helping expand the growth of a multi-million dollar company.
