This session introduces participants to the field of ophthalmology, highlighting basic clinical skills and examination techniques. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with residents for mentorship and career guidance around pursing a career in ophthalmology. The session also includes a hands-on workshop where medical students rotate through stations to learn and practice key clinical examination skills from various subspecialties.

This is the first medical student symposium at the COS annual meeting. There will be keynote presentations on handling stress in medicine and an introduction to high yield clinical topics in ophthalmology. There will also be hands-on clinical skills sessions and breakout discussions with resident mentors.
