At the end of this symposium, participants will be able to:
- Describe the advantages and limitations of various treatment strategies for uveitis, including local and systemic therapies, and choose the most appropriate line of therapy for different uveitis presentations
- Indicate the advantages and limitations of anti-VEGF agents in treating intraocular neovascularisation or macular edema secondary to uveitis vs. other vasculopathic causes of these conditions
- Identify patients for whom topical and periocular corticosteroids are likely to be effective and timely vs. patients with uveitis who warrant oral corticosteroid or systemic immunomodulatory treatment
- Evaluate when implants or systemic therapy is the preferred option
- Define the indications and develop a treatment plan for systemic immunosuppression in uveitis
- Describe a novel model of collaborative care between ophthalmology and rheumatology and the benefits for patients with uveitis
