
Lesya Shuba MD, PhD, FRCSC
Dr. Shuba was born in Kiev, Ukraine. Before coming to Halifax, Canada in 1992, she attended Medical Institute in Kiev, Ukraine. In 1996 she earned a PhD degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada in cardiac electrophysiology. She went on to complete her MD degree and Ophthalmology residency at Dalhousie University, and a Glaucoma Fellowship with Drs. Alward and Kwon at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, USA. She is currently an Associate Professor and a Glaucoma Fellowship Director at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Dalhousie University in Halifax. Dr. Shuba is enjoying balancing her busy professional and family life.
