
(Rev.) Andrew Blake, RP
Rev. Andrew Blake is a
psychotherapist, Buddhist chaplain, and a mindfulness, compassion, and
end-of-life educator. Cofounder and Director of Sarana Institute, he provides
experiential-based training programs for university, hospital, conference, and
residential settings, including University of Toronto in their Applied
Mindfulness Meditation program and through the Mindfulness Project at SickKids
hospital in Toronto. A graduate of Upaya Institute’s Chaplaincy program (2010)
in Santa Fe, NM, his thesis explores research, skills and protocols of “Mindful
Listening,” which act as a preventative measure protecting healthcare and
palliative care providers from burnout and empathy fatigue. Rev. Blake is well
known for his engaging teaching style in bridging mindfulness into
work/everyday life and its value in alleviating stress, increasing well being,
and enhancing patient care. In addition to training professionals in the skills
of mindful awareness, he has co-developed a curriculum for young adults in
