Dr. Ashwin Mallipatna, a pediatric ophthalmologist specializing in retinoblastoma, trained at St. John's Medical College and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, where he received the Student Humanitarian Award in 2009. His research, particularly on periocular Topotecan, has been recognized internationally. Dr. Mallipatna has been instrumental in early detection methods and has collaborated worldwide to enhance retinoblastoma management. He co-founded Iksha Foundation to support care in India and played a key role in developing AJCC retinoblastoma staging, influencing global treatment standards. Currently, he`s an Assistant Professor and Head of the Retinoblastoma Program in Toronto, focusing on innovative early detection and treatment strategies.
