Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session participants will be able to:
- Describe how bias, discrimination, and racism affect health care outcomes and physician wellness, and how cultural humility and critical allyship can be used as tools in combating discrimination
- Describe emerging research on diversity & equity in Ophthalmology
- Understand and apply learnings to become effective allies and advocates in the healthcare setting, with a special emphasis on the needs of vulnerable populations and equity-deserving groups
