Steffany Bermúdez is Policy Advisor at the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), an independent think tank dedicated to accelerating solutions for a stable climate, sustainable management, and fair economies.

Steffany specializes in analyzing voluntary sustainability standards (VSS), exploring their characteristics and their potential to enhance environmental and social performance in key commodity sectors. She has published extensively on the economic performance of sustainable markets, as well as the intersection of standards, regional trade, and agricultural policy.

She holds a MA in public and international affairs, with a focus on public policy, and a BA in international relation.
