
Erik is a professor in the Department of Construction Engineering at the École de Technologie Supérieure and co-director of the Groupe de recherche en intégration et développement durable en environnement bâti (GRIDD). He specializes in the integration and optimization of information flows within value chains in the built asset industry. Erik serves as President of the Groupe BIM du Québec, is a member of the Board of Directors of buildingSMART Canada and is the chair of the ISO TC 59/SC13 Mirror Committee for the Standards Council of Canada. He has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry, holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Construction Engineering from the École de Technologie Supérieure and a B.Sc. in Architecture from Université Laval. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of British Columbia.
Erik participated in the development of the joint roadmap and is co-leading a project within ISO TC59/SC13 JWG 14 (with ISO TC211) developing Information exchange standards for BIM and GIS.
