
Manon Larocque
Manon Larocque was appointed Hydrographer General of Canada and Director General of the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) in September 2023. Mrs. Larocque has been a Government of Canada civil servant for 26 years, working namely as Director General in the Aquatic Ecosystems sector with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, and holding multiple executive roles namely at the Canadian Space Agency and Global Affairs Canada, with significant experience in government, technical and science policy.
In her current role, Mrs. Larocque is chair of the US-Canada Hydrographic Commission, and also leads Canada's delegation to the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) Assembly and the Arctic Regional Hydrographic Commission.
Mrs. Larocque intends to maintain the leadership of the CHS Digital Transformation, the commitment to S-100 implementation, and to continue pursuing many more vibrant and innovative projects and initiatives for Canada and CHS to benefit IHO and the global hydrographic community.
