Mathieu Benoit joined NRCan as Director, Canada Centre for Remote Sensing Division in July 2020. He joins NRCan from Effigis Geo-Solutions where he was Vice-President for the past three years. In his 27-year career with Effigis, he developed extensive knowledge of geomatics and has been particularly active in the field of remote sensing for land management and natural resource inventory. Over the years, he has developed close collaborations and carried out several projects with different Canadian organizations, including the Canadian Space Agency, Natural Resources Canada, and many other departments. Internationally, he delivered on remote sensing projects with the World Bank, the United Nations and the European Space Agency. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics from Université Laval and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Université de Sherbrooke.
