Mark Tivnan is a Director of Technical Services & Business Development at the First Peoples Innovation Centre, with over 25 years of experience in Administration, he helps create programs, projects, and workshops that introduce Indigenous people to the digital economy.

The First Peoples Innovation Centre (FPIC) inaugurated the first Indigenous FabLab in Canada. The FPIC was created in 2012 to support and stimulate social and technological innovation among First Peoples. The Centre has developed several programs to support women and young people as active community participants. The FPIC has adapted the FabLab model developed at MIT in 2002 to provide a culturally appropriate response to empower teens and young adults in setting their career direction. The goal is to make Indigenous FabLab spaces recreate social ties where generations and genres blend like professions and trades.

Mark has a diverse background that includes studies in Technology, Administration, and Project Management. He is a certified PMP, ITIL Expert, and Auditor of Quality Management Systems. His IT, project management, and ISO management system background help achieve project success with a systematic and process-driven approach.
