Anik Lacroix

Anik Lacroix is Assistant Director, Communications Branch at Statistics Canada and leads the implementation of a municipal data strategy.

With 30 years of experience at Statistics Canada,  Anik gained an outstanding knowledge of the world of data and the information needs of a wide range of stakeholders, governments, academic and industry. More specifically, she developed an expertise in the areas of local statistics, housing & construction, transportation, digital economy & innovation, health and environment.

Over the past year, she has been leading a new collaborative partnership with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities to better serve Canadians’ needs for statistical information in their communities. This partnership aims to improve local governments’ access to municipal-level insights and enhance Statistics Canada’s access to municipal administrative data. It also aims to optimise data literacy, competency and stewardship at municipal level.

Anik holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the Université de Montréal.
