Farzad Jalaei

Dr. Farzad Jalaei is a research officer at the construction research center - National Research Council Canada (NRC). He has a Ph.D. degree in Construction Engineering and Management from University of Ottawa followed by three years academic experience at Polytechnique Montreal and Concordia universities. At NRC, He is currently leading a theme under the “NRC national platform to decarbonize construction sector at scale”relevant to digital construction solutions and data interoperability under Construction Sector Digitalization and Productivity (CSDP) Challenge Program. Activities within this platform seek to improve construction sector innovation potential, productivity, and the pace at which low-carbon solutions can be deployed in new and retrofit construction projects. He has been involved in leading a project to investigate on adaptability of the Construction 4.0 applications into national model codes along with a technical support on the low carbon assets through life cycle assessment project. As a research officer and a member of NRC- CRC advisory board, Farzad is supporting external stakeholder discussions / explore potential opportunities for collaborating on digital construction applications with several industry/ university and other government department.
