Bilyana Anicic has been delivering solutions that meet client's business needs for over twenty years. She applies innovative architecture solutions, interoperability standards, and enterprise architecture best practices while working with clients to identify issues they may not recognize and recommend architectural solutions appropriate for mitigating those issues.
Bilyana is passionate about Geomatics and leveraging location as the interoperability “glue" for Big Data and the Internet of Things (IoT). She has applied her passion for geospatial data and location intelligence to many initiatives, both here in Canada and internationally, in different industry verticals, including environmental, health, mining, utilities, oil and gas, and transportation, as well as for the federal, state, provincial, and local governments.
She achieves results through an extensive understanding of business architecture, strategy, people, processes, and systems. As an Enterprise Architect, she has led major digital transformation initiatives, including the Government of Canada’s Federal Geospatial Platform (FGP) and Open Government Open Maps.
Bilyana is presently helping GC departments with their Data and Digital Strategies (DFO, OPC and OAG) and leading Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) MDSD Enterprise Architecture efforts. Before this, she completed work on Canada's Privy Council Office (PCO) IM-IT Modernization initiative, including e-Cabinet as Enterprise Architect - IM Lead, and serves on the Board of Directors of The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI), Transforming Data with Intelligence.
Having recently completed MIT’s Digital Transformation programme "From AI and IoT to Cloud, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity", she keeps abreast of the latest technologies and leverages those technologies in Digital Transformations. Bilyana recently served as one of the judges on the innovative #CANDEV Data Challenge, a hackathon organized by Statistics Canada and the University of Ottawa. Bilyana has recently joined the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), Canada’s SCC Mirror Committee/ISO/TC 211 - Geographic Information/Geomatics.
As one of the founding members of the GeoIgnite Advisory Committee, she is leading the "Leadership in Diversity" and "Digital Transformation" tracks.
