Karl Spencer entered the world of GIS with CartoVista by way of a research and analytics career in the financial, automotive, retail and media industries. With a Master's of Science in Marketing, his expertise in data analysis and multivariate statistics have lent themselves very well to the work that CartoVista performs. His strong technical abilities and natural curiosity have allowed him to explore the myriad of possibilities for CartoVista and he has found a keen interest in web mapping and audience engagement. As the Director of Marketing for CartoVista, Karl has had the chance to work with multidisciplinary teams composed of GIS specialists, web designers, software architects, and code developers. His experience in strategic planning give him an objective view of the current landscape and allow him to bring a fresh perspective to GIS and web mapping. Above all, his emphasis on teamwork and collaboration offers an inspiring take on how we can all achieve greater feats, together, in the world of GIS.
