Scott Herman is the Chief Product Officer at Maxar Intelligence. Scott has spent most of his career working in the national security community; developing and deploying remote sensing, Earth intelligence, imagery analysis, sensor fusion, knowledge management and geographic information systems.  

Scott previously worked at Maxar from 2009 to 2014 as VP, Platform Development, first at GeoEye and then DigitalGlobe, prior to the company becoming Maxar in 2017. He went on to help build BlackSky and held several roles in his tenure, including Chief Technology Officer, Chief Solutions Architect and VP of Platform/Analytics Development. Scott also served as CEO of Cognitive Space, a startup applying artificial intelligence (AI) to satellite operations. He started his career as a software engineer working on multisource data fusion applications.

Scott is also a strategic adviser supporting startups and venture funds in the industry. Scott is a passionate new space, small satellite, remote sensing, AI/machine learning/computer vision analytics, agile development, lean startup and cloud computing evangelist.
