Neomi works for The Arctic Eider Society as a SIKU Outreach Coordinator. She supports current and new partnerships by providing SIKU support for Indigenous communities and organizations, such as providing in-person and virtual training sessions. Currently, the primary regions she focuses on include the Omushkego and Eeyou Istchee regions, The Northwest Territories, Yukon, and British Columbia. She enjoys her job because it allows her to connect and build meaningful relationships with various groups and provides an opportunity to support their needs and self-determination. She strongly believes in ground up and community driven work. Neomi has an educational background in GIS and mapping, community driven engagement, food security and Indigenous food systems. Through her journey she has built a passion and career for supporting Northern Indigenous peoples and communities. Neomi is also passionate about supporting and advocating the needs of racialized groups, immersing herself in new places and cultures and playing tennis. She currently resides on the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation Territory (Ottawa, ON.).
