Lizan Teresa Penaranda Chia BIO: Lizan Peñaranda commands the area of Civil Engineering with a bachelor’s degree in the field, CanBIM Foundations Theory & Software Skills – Proficient certification, and Certificate in Building Information Modeling – Lifecycle Management. She is a gifted leader with experience working on diverse collaborative projects, including the Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS) project. The SATREPS project was a collaboration agreement between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Government of Colombia that involved the participation of various public entities, including DIMAR, UNGRD, the SGC, and the National University of Colombia. Currently utilizing her expertise as a BIM Specialist on various infrastructure projects. She has gained insight into BIM implementation, BIM processes, and Digital Building techniques that have accelerated project delivery. In her earlier projects over the 10 million cost threshold, managed cost estimation, facility studies, and risk assessments as a Civil Engineer Consulting. She is efficient in all the current BIM and Digital Build software and platforms within both the Design and Construction phases of the project life cycle, including Revit. Her goals are to advance organizations in new and emerging technologies that help facilitate the built environment.
