
Jarrad Perron
Jarrad graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master of Science in Medical Physics and is currently a PhD student in the Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Manitoba. He is the McCrorie-West Family Fellow in Alzheimer's Research (2021-2023), holds the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba's Graduate Fellowship (2022-2023) and receives funding from the Baxter Bursary for Francophone Canadians studying in French-minority regions of Canada. He is currently the recipient a Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS-D) from the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council.
His research focuses on quantitative methods of analysis for multimodal neuroimaging of neurodegenerative dementia disorders, with a special emphasis on machine and deep learning methods. Outside of academia he is an active scientific educator and advocate for scientifically informed environmental policy, leads a support group for caregivers of people with dementia under the auspices of the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, and is the founding member of the Vicious Mockery Dungeons & Dragons Collective in Winnipeg.
