Fernanda Faini, PhD in Law and New Technologies at the University of Bologna, is adjunct professor of “ICT & Law” at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Piacenza campus) and research fellow of Information Technology Law at the University of Pisa, where she is adjunct professor and member of the Interdepartmental Center “Law and Technologies of the Frontier” (DETECT); she is also adjunct professor of “Law and new technologies” at the International Telematic University Uninettuno.
She obtained the national scientific qualification to serve as associate professor of Private Law and Philosophy of Law. 

Legislative-legal officer, she deals with digital administration, innovation and ICT law at Regione Toscana.

Affiliate scholar of the “Information Society Law Center” (ISLC) of the University of Milan, she is fellow of the “Italian Academy of the Internet Code” (IAIC), member of the Research Unit on “Law, Ethics, Technologies” of the CRID Research Center of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and member of the Steering Committee of the Research Unit “Blockchains and Artificial Intelligence for Business, Economics and Law” (BABEL) of the University of Florence, where she is Subject Expert and graduated with honors in Law.

Member of the “Big Data Committee” of Istat, of the task force on artificial intelligence promoted by the Agency for Digital Italy and of the group of experts on technologies based on distributed registers and blockchain appointed by the Ministry of Economic Development, she has coordinated national working groups on the reforms in this field and has been president of the national association Circolo dei Giuristi Telematici.

Lecturer in university courses and masters, she is author of numerous publications, member of research groups, member of editorial and scientific committees, organizer and speaker at conventions and conferences, at national and international level.

Author of “Legal Science and Information Technology. Themes and problems” with Stefano Pietropaoli (second edition fully edited, updated and integrated, Giappichelli, 2021), “Data society. Data governance and rights protection in the digital age” (Giuffrè Francis Lefebvre, 2019) and “Legal Science and Information Technology” with Stefano Pietropaoli (Giappichelli, 2017).
