Lutz Peschke earned his first Ph.D. in chemistry in the Department of Environmental and Life Sciences at the Research Center Jülich and the Department of Physical Chemistry at University of Heidelberg, and his second Ph.D. in media studies which is about visual communication and knowledge transfer with help of information graphics in the Department of Media Studies at the University of Bonn. Since 1999 he works on different high-budget projects in the field of Public Understanding of Science and Humanities in Germany and Turkey, e.g. on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the German Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. Since 2018 he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Design at Bilkent University in Ankara. He is involved in several Horizon and Erasmus plus projects in the context of public engagement with science and digital cultures. In August 2021, he completed his habilitation in communication studies at the Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK). His research interests are among others digital cultures, science and knowledge communication, and environmental communication.
