Griff leads Fair Trials’ work on the use of automated systems and artificial intelligence in criminal justice, as well as working closely on pre-trial detention, remote justice and trial waiver systems. Previously he was a legal and policy officer at Big Brother Watch, where he investigated and challenged oppressive and discriminatory use of technology and data by the state, police and private companies. He has also worked as a paralegal, taken on cases for the Free Representation Unit and Lambeth Law Centre, and volunteers as a legal observer at protests. He has an LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
